Replacement of components after deploying the SRS

Kia EV6. Repair procedures   

• Before starting the work related to the airbag, Check the Diagnosis Trouble Code (DTC) by using the KDS, and perform the related work by using the DTC list.

• Be sure to keep the torque specifications presented in shop manuals. Otherwise, it could lead to the malfunction of airbag system.

1.When the front airbag deployed after collision, replace the following components.

1)SRS Control Module (SRSCM)

2)Deployed airbag

3)Ignited seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT)

4)Front Impact Sensor

5)SRS wiring harness

6)Replace the clock spring if there is any problem after checking the clock spring for damage when the Driver Airbag (DAB) module is deployed.

2.When the Side Airbag (SAB) / Curtain Airbag (CAB) module is deployed after a crash, replace the following components.

1)SRS Control Module (SRSCM)

2)Deployed airbag

3)Side impact sensor on the deployed side

4)SRS wiring harness

5)Ignited seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT)

3.After repairing the vehicle, check if the SRS operates normally.

1)Turn IG ON. The airbag warning lamp should turns off after turning on for 3 - 6 seconds.
