Used for compressing rear caliper piston

Removal

1.Release the parking brake by using the KDS.(Refer to Brake System - "Electric Parking Brake (EPB)")

2.Disconnect the battery negative ( - ) terminal and the service interlock connector.(Refer to Battery Control System - "Auxiliary 12 V Battery - 2WD")(Refer to Battery Control System - "Auxiliary 12 V Battery - 4WD")

3.Remove the rear wheel and tires.(Refer to Suspension System - "Wheel")

4.Disconnect the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) actuator connector (A).

5.Separate the brake hose (A) after removing the bolt.

Tightening torque :24.5 - 29.4 N·m (2.5 - 3.0 kgf·m, 18.1 - 21.7 lb·ft)

Do not reuse the washer (B) when installing the brake hose.

6.Open the rear brake caliper body (A) upwards after removing the bolt.

Tightening torque :21.6 - 31.4 N·m (2.2 - 3.2 kgf·m, 15.9 - 23.1 lb·ft)

7.Remove the brake pads (A).

8.Remove the brake pad slider shims (A).

9.Remove the rear torque member (A) after removing the bolts and washers.

Tightening torque :78.5 - 98.1 N·m (8.0 - 10.0 kgf·m, 57.9 - 72.3 lb·ft)

Do not reuse the torque member mounting bolt.

Installation

1.Install in the reverse order of removal.

• Be careful not to interfere with the torque member when assembling the caliper body.

• Turn the brake piston clockwise using SST (09580 - 0U000) to press the brake piston when installing the brake caliper body to torque member.

• Before installing the caliper body, check the position of the piston groove. If the location is fault, press it with the SST.[Normal]

2.Fill the brake reservoir with brake fluid and perform air bleeding.(Refer to Brake System - "Brake Bleeding Procedures")

3.Perform "Brake Pad Change Mode" using KDS after installing the rear caliper.(Refer to Brake System - "Electric Parking Brake (EPB)")

4.Depress the brake pedal several times to ensure that the brake pads are correctly positioned, then check operation.

5.Check the brake fluid leakage and pedal operating condition.

6.Check if the parking brake is operating normally.
