Removal

Kia EV6. Power Door Look Module   

• When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.

• When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.

• When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure.

Front Door Lock Module

1.Remove the front door latch.(Refer to Body - "Front Door Latch Assembly")

Rear Door Lock Module

1.Remove the rear door latch.(Refer to Body - "Rear Door Latch Assembly")

Tailgate Lock Module

1.Remove the power tailgate latch.(Refer to Body - "Power Tailgate Latch Assembly")

Hood Lock Module

1.Remove the hood latch.(Refer to Body - "Hood Latch Assembly")

Installation

1.Install in the reverse order of removal.

Front Door Lock Module

1.Remove the front door module.(Refer to Body - "Front Door Module")

2.Disconnect the connector from the door lock actuator.

3.Check actuator operation by connecting power and ground as shown in the table below.

Rear Door Lock Module

1.Remove the rear door trim.(Refer to Body - "Rear Door Trim")

2.Disconnect the connector from the rear door lock actuator.

Tailgate Lock Module

1.Remove the tailgate lid trim.(Refer to Body - " Tailgate Lid Trim")

2.Disconnect the tailgate latch connector.

3.Check actuator operation by connecting power and ground as shown in the table below.

Hood Lock Module

1.Remove the hood latch assembly.(Refer to Body - "Hood Latch Assembly")

2.Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. If there is no continuity, replace the hood latch switch.
