Removal
Tie rod end
1.Remove the front wheel and tires.(Refer to Suspension System - "Wheel")
2.Separate the tie rod end ball joint using the SST.
(1)Remove the split pin (A).
(2)Remove the lock nut (B), and washer (C).
Tightening torque :98.1 - 117.7 N·m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf·m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb·ft)
• Do not reuse the split pin.
• Do not reuse the lock nut.
• Be careful not to damage the boot of the link.
• Always use hand tools when removing and installing the lock nut.
(3)Separate the tie rod end ball joint (A) using SST (09568 - 2J100).
3.Loosen the tie rod end lock nut (A) until the tie rod end can rotate.
Pre-tightening torque :2.9 - 9.8 N·m (0.3 - 1.0 kgf·m, 2.2 - 7.2 lb·ft)Tightening torque :49.0 - 53.9 N·m (5.0 - 5.5 kgf·m, 36.2 - 39.8 lb·ft)
Measure the thread length (A) or mark the mounting position of the lock nut (B) before removing.
4.Remove the tie rod end (A) by turning it counterclockwise.
Installation
1.Install in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the bolts and nuts to the specified torque.
2.Check the alignment.(Refer to Suspension System - "Alignment")
