Description
• The SRS Control Module (SRSCM) determines whether and when to deploy the airbag module and the seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT).
• It supplies the power required for deployment at the time of deployment of the airbag module or seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT).
• It also performs the self-diagnosis function of SRS.
Removal
• When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
• When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
• When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure.
1.Disconnect the battery negative ( - ) terminal and the service interlock connector.(Refer to Battery Control System - "Auxiliary 12 V Battery - 2WD")(Refer to Battery Control System - "Auxiliary 12 V Battery - 4WD")
2.Remove the floor console assembly. (Refer to Body - “Floor Console Assembly”)
3.Disconnect the SRS Control Module (SRSCM) connectors (A).
4.Remove the SRS Control Module (SRSCM) (A) after removing the nuts.
Tightening torque :7.8 - 9.8 N·m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf·m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb·ft)

1.Install in reverse order of removal.
In the case of the SRSCM with the rollover detection function applied, the airbag may be deployed due to the movement generated during the installation, so do not install the SRSCM while the battery is connected or less than 3 minutes and 30 seconds after the battery is disconnected.
Be sure to keep the torque specifications presented in shop manuals. Otherwise, it could lead to the malfunction of airbag system.
2.After installing the SRSCM, make sure that the airbag system operates normally.
When the IG is on, the airbag warning lamp should turns off after turning on for 3 - 6 seconds.
Variant Coding
"Variant Coding" must be performed, when replacing the SRS control module.Variant Coding procedure
1.IG "OFF" and connect the KDS.
2.After turning IG ON, select airbag system and then select "ACU Variant Coding".
3.Follow the KDS procedures.
