Replacement
• When working on high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. It is because that lack of knowledge of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or electric leakage.
• When working on high voltage system or related system, make sure that you are familiar and comply with the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings." If you do not comply with the instructions, serious accidents due to electric shock or leakage may occur.
• When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedures.
When checking the reduction gear oil level, be careful not to allow foreign substance (like dust) to enter through the filler hole.
1.Remove the front under cover.(Refer to Front Motor and Reduction Gear System - "Front Under Cover")
2.Prepare a clean 5 ℓ beaker (A) to measure the amount of oil.
3.Remove the drain plug (A) and drain oil, and then reinstall the drain plug.
Tightening torque :44.1 - 58.8 N·m (4.5 - 6.0 kgf·m, 32.5 - 43.4 lb·ft)
The existing drain plug gasket (A) must be replaced with a new one (do not reuse).
4.Remove the front reduction gear cover fastener (A).
5.Remove the filler plug (A).
6.Fill the specified oil through the filler plug hole as much as it has been drained.
Recommended : Kia genuine ATF SP4M-1
7.Install the filler plug (A).
Tightening torque :44.1 - 58.8 N·m (4.5 - 6.0 kgf·m, 32.5 - 43.4 lb·ft)
The existing filler plug gasket (A) must be replaced with a new one (do not reuse).
8.Install the front reduction gear cover fastener (A).
9.Install the front under cover.(Refer to Front Motor and Reduction Gear System - "Front Under Cover")
