Removal
If using a transmission jack to support a reduction gear, do not lift the vehicle too much. The center gravity of the vehicle may change and fall.
1.Remove the rear wheel and tires.(Refer to Tires/Wheels - "Wheel")
2.Remove the rear under cover.(Refer to Motor and Reduction Gear System - "Rear Under Cover")
3.Remove the rear assist arm cam bolt (A), plate (B) and nut (C).
Tightening torque :107.9 - 117.7 N·m (11.0 - 12.0 kgf·m, 79.6 - 86.8 lb·ft)
• Install the transmission jack and lift up the parts to prevent the bolts and nuts from damage when installing or removing.
• Becareful not to change the bolt, nut and plate installing position.
• Use a tool such as the magnetic pickup tool (A) to pick up the cam bolt after removing the cam bolt.
Hold the bolt and remove or install the nut.
4.Remove the rear assist arm (A) after removing the bolt, washer and nut.
Tightening torque :117.7 - 137.3 N·m (12.0 - 14.0 kgf·m, 86.8 - 101.3 lb·ft)
Installation
1.Install in the reverse order of removal.
When tightening the nut, align the center of the bolt plate scale with the center of the guide.
2.Check the alignment.(Refer to Alignment - "Repair Procedures")
Inspection
1.Check the bushing for wear and aging.
2.Check the rear assist arm for bent or damage.
3.Check all bolts.
