Removal
• When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
• When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
• When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure.
1.Disconnect the battery negative ( - ) terminal and the service interlock connector.(Refer to Battery Control System - "Auxiliary 12 V Battery - 2WD")(Refer to Battery Control System - "Auxiliary 12 V Battery - 4WD")
2.Remove the front seat back assembly from the front seat back frame.(Refer to Body - "Front Seat Back Cover")
If the airbag is deployed after a vehicle crash and the airbag is replaced, replace the seat bag assembly.
3.Remove the Center Side Airbag (CSAB) module from the seat back frame.
(1)Remove the Center Side Airbag (CSAB) module nuts (A).
Tightening torque :5.9 - 7.8 N·m (0.6 - 0.8 kgf·m, 4.3 - 5.8 lb·ft, 52.1 - 69.4 lb·in)
(2)Remove the Center Side Airbag (CSAB) module (A).

Installation

1.Install in the reverse order of removal.
• Be sure to keep the torque specifications presented in shop manuals. Otherwise, it could lead to the malfunction of airbag system.
• Incorrect installation of the front seat back cover blocks the normal deployment of the side airbag (SAB), so make sure that the front seat back cover is properly installed.
• Make sure the connector is connected so that you can hear the lock 'click'.
2.After installing the airbag module, confirm normally airbag system operation
If the IG ON the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
